Alex Sokolove Interview, February 18, 1972

Interview with Alex Sokolove conducted by Richard Flint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Alex Sokolove worked a variety of different jobs including waiter in the cookhouse, and boss porter in a railroad sleeper car on the Jones Bros. and Wilson's Circus. After serving in World War I Sokolove worked on a small medicine show and later for the Walter L. Main Circus. For much of his career he working the candy stand (concessions). Later in the interview (about midway through Part 2) Sokolove recites the sales pitch he would make to the crowds.
