Gaylord Maynard (1938-2007) was a noted circus performer, equestrian, and trick rider. Maynard worked in many shows, including the Royal Lippizana Stallion Show and the Wonderful World of Horses; he is often known for his comedic horse act, "Gaylord Maynard and Chief Bear Paw."
