55 minutes
An interview with Dick Garden conducted by Scott O’Donnell on June 26, 2023. Canadian native Richard “Dick” Garden was born into a circus family. His father founded the Garden Bros. Circus in 1938. The interview covers Garden’s long career as owner and manager of numerous shows including the Toby Tyler Circus, Reid Bros. Circus, Sterling and Reid Circus as well as various ice shows.  Also discussed are changes and evolutions in circus advertising and promotion. Garden’s son Niles Garden runs the Garden Bros.
